The Christmas holiday season is upon us and, in the spirit of the season, we’re doing a food drive at Battlegrounds during the month of December. If you bring in cans of food to any of the miniatures tournaments, each can you donate will get you a ticket to re-roll one die result you don’t like! Each die may only be re-rolled once and there is a maximum of five re-rolls per player per tournament. Once collected, the food will be dropped off at a Salvation Army food cupboard at a nearby grocery store. So come on out, help the hungry, and increase your victory odds by doing so! The following are the events where the cans-for-re-rolls will be in effect:

  • AT-43 2000 point tournament on Saturday, December 6th (facebook link)
  • Monsterpocalypse tournament on Saturday, December 13th (facebook link)
  • Confrontation 2000 point tournament on Saturday, December 20th

The King Mammoth arrived this month at Battlegrounds. Be prepared to face this awesome type 3 Karman vehicle as well as the Therians’ Baal Golgoth!

On 11-Oct-2008 we’ll be having an AT-43 tournament with a twist. Instead of our typical multi-round tournament we will be having an event in “Attack & Defend” format. At the beginning of the tournament, opponents will be paired off randomly on tables that will be deliberately set up so that the “defender” side of the table has a tactical advantage in terms of terrain and cover. Players in the defender position will score points by maintaining their position. If an attacker defeats a defender that attacker becomes the new defender at that table. Whenever a defender wins he will suffer losses due to attrition and begin the next game with an increasingly depleted army. The key to winning this tournament is to play as many games as you can!

Each player needs to arrive with a 1500 point army list which will be used for all games. No proxying of models or changing up of army lists between rounds is allowed. Players must bring a legible army list to the event that is to be shown to their opponent before each game. Players are expected to arrive with their own rulebooks, dice, measuring tape, and anything else needed to play the game.
